Understanding keepsake 3D ultrasound, 4D and 6D Plus

What is a keepsake 3D ultrasound?

A keepsake 3D ultrasound aims to observe the baby and retain images of the pregnancy. Unlike ultrasound prescribed for medical care, it provides no diagnosis, screening, measurement or medical interpretation. It never replaces a medical ultrasound.

Differences between 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound

• 2D: a cross-sectional image in shades of grey.
• 3D: a three-dimensional representation: face, expressions and outlines when conditions are favourable.
• 4D: 3D in motion; video sequences can be saved depending on the package.

6D Plus: an AI rendering derived from 3D

Echografilm 6D Plus uses artificial intelligence to process a photo from a 3D ultrasound. The rendering is illustrative: it does not show with certainty the baby's actual appearance at birth. The result depends on source image quality and position. Explore 3D → 6D Plus comparisons.

When should you come for 3D photos and 4D video?

There is no universally ideal week: the face must be sufficiently visible and the baby's position is crucial. Around 25 to 30 weeks after conception, conditions are often favourable for facial photos and 6D Plus, without a guaranteed result.
